The product performs as advertised. I wish the interior of the microwave was white instead of black. I wish the overhead light on the microwave was mounted closer to the front of the appliance. The product is a good value for the money it cost. I would buy the same model again.

Needed a new over-the-counter microwave since, in general, they only seem to last a few years. This one seems to be working fine so far, although it's still taking me a while to get used to how the "cook time" sequence works. It does its job and has not caused problems, and that's really all I ask of an appliance.

This microwave range is a replacement for one that I had for nearly 21 years that finally gave out. It looks modern and works well. On occasion, I still enter the cooking time as it was set up on my previous unit. it was slightly different from this one, so this one sometimes begins operating when I didn't intend for it to do so, though that's no fault of this unit. The only item I found to be slightly disappointing is that though this unit has a higher wattage than my previous one, it doesn't seem to cook things any quicker. It doesn't matter too much, though I thought I'd mention it just the same.

When reheating any food to eat, I do not use the highest heat {100%). So, I am not pleased with the design of the sequence of how u go about lowering the temperature. It is more complicated than it needs to be. On my recent KitchenAid microwave, all one had to do is push 2 buttons, one for length of time and one for temperature. Also, when closing the door, not only is it somewhat difficult, but it makes a LOUD sound. I am aware that it is slightly smaller that my previous one and maybe slightly less in cost, but does that mean it may not last as long as my previous one did? I really don™™t understand why the door is as difficult and noisy as it is.
Otherwise, so far, it does do what I need it for.

The instructions for use are scanty at best. I find the microwave unintuitive and the controls are confusing to use. The microwave is also a lot noisier than the one it replaced. It also collects moisture inside when in use. Maybe I notice this because it's my first oven that is dark colored inside? One big problem for me is that I use the clock on the unit a lot. It is very dimly lit unless you've pushed a button when it brightens up tremendously. It is so dim it is hard to see the time as I'm walking out the kitchen door to leave.

I bought this appliance because my old microwave oven stopped working after 23 years. This microwave oven has fewer basic features than any microwave I™™ve ever owned. It works well and heats more efficiently than the previous microwave oven, but we miss pushing a button to open the door, rather than just pulling the door open. You can™™t heat food in the microwave and use the timer on the microwave simultaneously, as I could with my previous microwave oven. Otherwise, it™™s okay.
Again, I did not appreciate the hard sell of the extended warranty when I called to register for the standard warranty. I felt as though Whirlpool was trying to take advantage of me.

I've had no problems with our new microwave except for the popcorn setting. It preforms most cooking or warming jobs as expected. The popcorn setting does not do an adequate job of popping the kernals, leaving 1/3 to 1/2 unpopped. I now pop by setting the time, instead of using the popcorn setting.

vent fan does not work, melt butter selection in 10 seconds it is splattering butter everywhere, if you heat one thing ( pot pie for example for 5 minutes) it takes about 8 minutes for the next to cook. Would not recommend this product. The vent fan never did work.

Had it for one month and it started sparking and smoking and the whole house smelled like burnt wiring. After about 2 days of trying to get ahold of anyone that would care, I finally got ahold of the safety department. About a week later they finally sent someone to look at it and deciding it only needs a new fuse that would have to be ordered. I™™m currently still waiting for it to be fixed.

seems to be working fine. one problem, I do not like the color of the interior of the microwave.
It is dark grey. In your paperwork you state the purpose to be: so you can't see the dirt. REALLY, I want to keep my applicances clean. I want to see the dirt. Now I have to clean it everytime I use it, cause I cannot tell of it is dirty. Not a good idea , well you asked me. Here it is.

Bought this a week ago and it works fine. It doesn™™t however allow me to turn off rotation of the plate. It also rattles when you open door but is stabilly installed. Compared to my old one it doesn™™t seem to be as good of a quality.

One word. Simplicity! Has all features in one package. Installation was easy. The template needed for drilling the mounting holes was printed on the shipping box. Simply cut the template from the box and you have a rigid template.

The interior and exterior lights are not as bright as they should be. I also believe they are incandescent, should be LED. The software for regular operation takes more keystrokes than other microwaves, e.g., when you open the door and then close it after removing food, you still have to cancel the operation. Overall, I hope it lasts; the Frigidaire I bought 6 months ago failed (magnetron started making strange noises). So we will put up with the Whirlpool software inefficiencies.

I was extremely happy to find a white microwave which provided me with an over the oven microwave. It was easy to install. Works as expected and love the built on fan and over head light. Evetytime I walk into my kitchen I can't help but smile.

Impossible to remove vent grille for filter

I bought this days ago and had it installed. Now I find that it's physically impossible to remove the vent grille to replace the charcoal filter, despite 2 resident engineers working at it for over an hour. I ordered a technician visit, but he called to say that it's true; one may eventually wrangle the grille off, but then you'll have even more trouble getting it back on. If I had him come out, I would then be charged for the visit. He said to just leave it there forever and never change it. There's no way to contact Whirlpool except another 25 minutes on hold; and the first time, they didn't acknowledge the design problem. So why would another call help?

I replaced my old Whirlpool over the range microwave with a similar Whirlpool product to make sure it would fit. This one is not nearly as easy to use as the old one. I find it tedious and confusing to use the different functions. I wish my old one didn™™t quit working, There are no detailed instructions included with it. I wouldn™™t recommend this product!

Very pleased so far. However, the printed info to explain the features and functions is vague. We had to experiment to figure out how to set the time and get the timer to work.

It doesn™™t tell you anywhere which minutes are quick punches.
Our last Whirlpool microwave lasted 24 years!! We™™re hoping to have the same luck with this one.

We ordered this microwave from the Whirlpool website, and it was delivered and installed on 9/11/25. It worked fine until 10/08/25 in the evening when while heating up a cup of coffee, after pressing the start button, it made a very loud bag, there was a spark, and then it would no longer heat. We unplugged it and had to open the windows and turn on some fans to exhaust the strong burned electrical smell. We were very concerned about possible fire hazard in our home. The next day, I attempted to start the warranty process only to discover that there is really no way, either by phone or on the website, to file, or start a claim. It appeared that if we had purchased an extended warranty, there is a way to start the process there. Finally, after numerous attempts, I finally navigated to the Safety department and that is when I was finally able to make progress on resolving the issue on a new unit that was literally less than a month old. The solution from Whirlpool is to have the unit serviced. At this point, today we are finally supposed to have a service call at 4:00 (at this point we will have been without the microwave for over two weeks) to see if it is repairable. Our local service company stated when I called them that they no longer make service calls for microwaves because the best solution (based on cost and potential future issues) is to just replace the unit. Anyway, Whirlpool Safety Representatives were finally able to contact a service provider outside of our area willing to come out and take a look. We had to then work with that provider to schedule a service call (not a great solution when we are all busy and didn't sign up for facilitating the repair of a new unit in the first place). Our concern (and it is a big one) is that if the unit is serviced, will it be safe (fire hazard to our home) and will it then continue to work well, or will this issue re-occur (and when it does, will it now be just outside the warranty). Another question is, if it is repairable, is the warranty now starting over, or is it now a month and a half old. To put it frankly, we are not at all happy. We have a house full of Whirlpool appliances (range top, wall oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer, and dryer). We purchased these because they all proudly display the made in America sticker and because we want American made products in our home wherever and whenever we can. The whole process to help us resolve this issue has been very disheartening, and I feel that it is unfortunately not over yet. We would appreciate any focus that could be put on this, not just for us, but for all Whirlpool's other loyal customers who, like us, want to support American Made!!!

Decided to go with this Whirlpool to replace the GE that didn™™t last 2 years. So far so good other than we don™™t like the gray interior. Makes it hard to see what™™s in it cause the lights not bright enough. Basic functions, but it does what we need!
