The appliance was delivered and set up by the retailer. After about a month the ice maker stopped functioning. I have spent countless hours trying to get service through the Amana customer service group to repair the unit however, after now 5 weeks the unit has not been repaired. Truly sorry I bought the Amana product and will not consider this manufacturer in the future.

I bought this refrigerator to replace an Amana that stopped working. The water/ice dispenser is not as tall as the old one so my usual tumbler won™€™t fit and must be held at an angle to fill. Shelves on the fridge & freezer are different sizes than the old so items aren™€™t in the ™€˜usual™€™ -pot. The ice maker works fine and the unit is well lit on the inside.

Our panel in the freezer has froze up twice now and we've only used it for 1 month. The fridge food has rotted twice now. And frankly I'm not a happy camper. Could be related to the idiotic layout of the kitchen with the fridge being next to the stove. However we have taken steps to insulate and I to still is not functioning.

Horrible Unit, Equally Awful Warranty Service

I am not sure which is worse, the refrigerator or the manufacturer repair service provider for Amana in the Phoenix area. This units fridge side temps have ranged from 31 degrees to 52 degrees. The average temperature has been 48F degrees. The freezer side temps have ranged from -1 to 35F degrees. It frequently goes above 32F allowing ice cubes to melt and run out of the freezer side and food unthaws. We have been trying to get this unit repaired since June. The service company canceled and rescheduled the first call. The return trip to go back and repair (Trip #2) was also canceled and rescheduled. And although we called to ensure the tech would have the parts for the second trip, Guinco arrived for their rescheduled appointment without the part. They did come back the following day and installed the parts. Unfortunately that did not solve the wide swings in temperatures. The same issues persist and I have thrown on large volumes of spoiled food - some even well within expiration date and factory sealed are molding in this refrigerator. I have repeatedly contacted Amana's CEO and Nicole at their executive desk has taken a "wait and see" approach to resolve our issue. Given the quality of their product and service, I want my money refunded and I do not want to try another one of these. I believe this is just one lemon out of many Amana lemons. Buyer beware on this horrible unit!!

So Far, So Good

It's only been two months of using this refrigerator, but so far the good outweighs the bad, by far. The freezer is very narrow and, while it is deep, I find that I still have to rearrange every time I want to put in a frozen pizza. Additionally, the water dispenser line froze recently. Let me tell you, it is pretty annoying to have your brand new fridge stop working! But, luckily, I thought to try turning down the temperature before I freaked out. I'm currently running it one notch below "ideal." These are small things, overall. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a solid machine with just enough bells and whistles.

How do I clean it?

I bought this refrigerator as a replacement. It's ok. a little smaller than our last one but we have adapted. it's just my husband and me. The only negative is that the stainless steel is not actually stainless and not finger print free. It gets very dirty and the manual states not to use stainless steel cleaner. What do I use? I am constantly wiping it off but even the wipe marks show. I give up.

This is a nice refrigerator at a good price. It's my second Amana side by side since I lost the first one in a flood. Works well, easy to change the filter, but I wish the indicator lights were in a different location. I am in a wheelchair and it's hard for me to see when the filter needs to be changed. The filter is on the bottom of the fridge and access is fairly easy. Maintains temperature, ice and water work great.

Has not been satisfactory since it arrived. Water dispenser drips, right down the front of the freezer door. Ice auger bunches up ice until it drops into the freezer compartment. Less than 4 years old and now too noisy to tolerate. Tech changed a part (on extended warranty). No change. Have yo go through Whirlpool again, then to same appliance repair company, who cannot give you a window of time to show up, only a day. 3 days off work so far and nothing resolved. Should have just bought a new fridge (Anything NOT made by Whirlpool)

I am happy with this refrigerator. There is one thing I would change. The water dispenser is in front of the ice dispenser. I keep accidentally turning on the water while I am trying to get ice. Then the water ends up on the floor. I wish there was a switch to go from ice to water.

My 20 year old Frigidaire no longer kept food at 37-40 degrees and the part to repair was no longer available. When looking for a replacement at the local appliance store I found that the door hinge design would not permit the refrigerator to fit my cabinet space. Frigidaire was not a product they carried and the owner recommended an Amana that would and showed me a photo of the one I currently own. I regret not checking out a floor model that was similar to see the actual compartments and finish. I no longer have a deli drawer, less compartments on the freezer door, no pizza shelf and the finish is not stainless steel, magnets stick to it. And I'll probably only get 5-7 years of service as opposed to the 20 from my old Frigidaire. The Amana does keep the food safely cold.

3 mos and working accordinglly

As f 3 mos now with my knew Amana side by side, I am pretty happy with it. Fairly quiet and runs according to it's settings, After 3 mos, it's keeping it's tempters according to it's guide. Thanks Amana

Terrible service

I bought this and it was scratch up door handles came off. I've been waiting on a replacement and still have not received it. There's no customer service anymore. Coporate does not respond to your email. You can't call anyone who can solve your issue.

So far so good! Previous reviews had me worried, but everything works great. I™€™m used to a large bottom freezer so the freezer space is a bit small, but that™€™s my only criticism.

LOVE THE ICE MAKER

OUR REFRIGERATOR LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE MODEL SHOWN. THE HANDLES DO NOT LINE UP CORRECTLY. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE "FRENCH HANDLES" & WERE SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THAT & NOT LINE UP!! ((NOT TRUE)) LOTS OF SCRATCHES & DENTS.
